Men’s Issues
I have a particular interest in working with young men who feel aimless, stuck, or uncertain about their direction in life. Many are navigating transitions, identity questions, or pressures around career, relationships, and purpose. My work focuses on helping them clarify their values, build confidence, and create a more grounded sense of meaning and momentum.
Anxiety
Treatment for anxiety often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps individuals challenge unhelpful thought patterns, reduce avoidance, and build confidence through exposure-based strategies. Psychotropic medications may also be used to help regulate the physiological symptoms of anxiety and support overall stability.
Depression
Evidence-based treatment for depression combines CBT, behavioral activation, and supportive psychotherapy to help individuals re-engage with meaningful activities and shift negative thinking patterns. Psychotropic medication can be an important part of treatment by helping improve mood, energy, and emotional regulation.
Bipolar Disorder
Treatment for bipolar disorder focuses on mood stabilization, structured routines, and skills for managing stress and sleep. Psychotherapy helps individuals understand mood patterns and strengthen coping strategies. Psychotropic medications are often used to support mood stability and reduce the frequency and intensity of mood episodes.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
The gold-standard treatment for OCD is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which helps individuals gradually face feared situations while reducing compulsive behaviors. Psychotropic medication may also be used to help decrease intrusive thoughts and support progress in therapy.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
PTSD treatment often includes trauma-focused therapies such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) or Prolonged Exposure (PE), which help individuals process traumatic memories and rebuild a sense of safety. Psychotropic medications may be used to help manage symptoms such as hyperarousal, sleep disturbance, or mood instability.
Sleep Disorders
Behavioral treatments such as CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) help individuals improve sleep habits, regulate circadian rhythms, and address thoughts or behaviors that interfere with rest. Psychotropic medications may be used when appropriate to support sleep regulation and reduce nighttime symptoms.
Anger Management
Anger management treatment focuses on identifying triggers, improving emotional regulation, and developing healthier communication and coping strategies. Psychotherapy helps individuals respond more intentionally rather than reactively. Psychotropic medication may be used when underlying mood or anxiety symptoms contribute to anger.
Grief and Loss
Treatment for grief supports individuals in processing their loss, understanding their emotional experience, and gradually re-engaging with daily life. Psychotherapy focuses on meaning-making and emotional expression. Psychotropic medication may be used when grief is accompanied by significant mood or anxiety symptoms.
Maternal Mental Health
Treatment for perinatal and postpartum mental health concerns includes emotional support, CBT-based strategies, and education about the unique stressors of pregnancy and early parenthood. Psychotropic medications may be used when appropriate to help manage mood changes, anxiety, or other symptoms during this period.
Relationship & Family Issues
Evidence-based approaches such as CBT, interpersonal therapy, and communication-focused interventions help individuals and families improve conflict resolution, strengthen connection, and build healthier relational patterns. Psychotropic medication may be considered when underlying mood or anxiety symptoms affect relational functioning.
Chronic Conditions
For individuals managing chronic medical or psychological conditions, treatment focuses on coping skills, stress reduction, behavioral change, and improving quality of life. Psychotherapy helps patients navigate symptoms and maintain motivation. Psychotropic medication may be used to help manage mood, anxiety, or sleep symptoms related to chronic health challenges.
